It was going to be a weekly giveaway newspaper, but it didn’t work out, so it became a website. We wanted it to be a cross between an airport newspaper and Metro with a hint of pprune.org.
We’re not sure if that’s what we achieved, but more importantly is it what you want?
So it’s over to you – email us, phone us or just express yourself on the Messageboard, and if it’s legal we’ll leave it on!! We want to know your likes & dislikes, what’s going on in your neck of the woods, and what we can do to make this site better and more useful to you.

With more than 40 years in the airline business , this looks like the history of aviation.
Once HM Customs decided I wasn’t suitable material I joined Air France reservations, using pencil and paper!
Then on to Danair as Station Manager LPL handling 4 DC3s a day. The terminal at LPL is now a Holiday Inn and my office is the Ladies. When DAN reached 55 aircraft I joined the team to start Airtours International….glory days!!
After that…a fuel consultant…for Jetmagic, Astraeus , Eujet then easyJet.
I’ve had the idea for airportinsider for about 3 yrs, but it wasn’t till I met up with Fran Spriggs, another Airtours émigré, that it finally took wing |

For me this all started with a friend of a friend who needed input on a business case…….. that’s where I came in. What was supposed to be a couple of hours turned into a full time job, and here we are finally online.
I’m not complaining though, in an odd sort of way it’s been a natural progression given the amount of time I used to spend in Terminal 3 during my 7 ½ years at Airtours/MyTravel.
I’m a bean counter, computer bod and auditor all rolled into one. I know it sounds boring and often it is, but throw in travel & aviation and you get the opportunity to travel the world….. which more than makes up for it. |
